Hello! I'm Katherine, the artist behind Rainey Studio. I make paintings and prints rooted in the places I've called home.
My Story
I've been drawn to art since I was a little girl and was in art classes for as long as I can remember. Growing up in North Carolina, my family traveled the East Coast and its beauty is infused into everything I make. The tall trees, the low country, the coast.
I went to school for graphic design and spent years building a career out of it. Somewhere along the way I started to feel like something was missing and it took me a while to figure out what that was.
One morning I got the urge to put the computer away and start drawing again. I'm not sure where it came from, but I followed that gut feeling. After opening a successful Etsy shop, I gained the confidence to pick up a paintbrush again and it felt like I'd never stopped.
Rainey Studio has been such a blessing, an outlet for me to express myself, and I'm so glad you're here.

Originals
One of one, acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas. Signed, wired and ready to hang, and shipped with a certificate of authenticity.
Fine Art Prints
Printed on Somerset Velvet, a heavy cotton rag paper with a soft matte surface. I make them to order in a handful of sizes.
Digital Downloads
Files you print yourself, sized to fit standard frames.
